Booking Your Hair Appointments: A Guide to Timing and Frequency

Hello my hauntingly gorgeous peeps one of the questions I am asked often is how often should I book my appointments?

Finding the right rhythm for your hair appointments is key to maintaining healthy, vibrant locks. Here's a breakdown based on different goals and treatments:

  • For Curly Haircuts and Damage Control:

    • If you're focused on maintaining your current length or bidding farewell to damaged ends, aim for appointments every three months, approximately four times a year. I like to align my appointments with seasonal changes. It helps me remember I have an appointment coming up and gets me in the mood for the season.

  • For Hair Growth and Maintenance:

    • Seeking growth while keeping your hair in top condition? Book appointments twice a year. This frequency allows your hair to grow while ensuring it stays happy and healthy.

  • Prebooking for the Year:

    • It's a smart move to prebook your appointments for the entire year. This way, you're all set and prepared, ensuring your hair gets the care and attention it deserves without any last-minute hassles.

Appointment Frequencies for Colour:

  • Toner: Every 4 to 6 weeks is ideal for maintaining the desired tone in your hair.

  • Highlights/Foils: Aim for appointments every 6 to 8 weeks for optimal upkeep.

  • Bleach Retouch:  4-6 weeks I wouldn’t stretch it past 6 because that will lead to banding.

  • Root Retouch: For those touching up roots, book appointments every 4 to 6 weeks.

  • Balayage: Bring your balayage lightness up as often as you prefer. My clients range every 3 months - 6 months. However do keep in mind you must maintain the tone so you will need regular toneing appointments every 4-6 weeks.

Finding the right frequency for your hair appointments is a delicate balance tailored to your hair goals and specific treatments. Whether it's maintaining your style, achieving growth, or getting specific treatments, setting a consistent schedule ensures your hair gets the care it needs to look its best year-round.
